The East Kentucky Learning Center offers tutoring help that is able to fix short-ter
m education problems. We provide a systemic approach of identifying difficulties via an initial testing assessment followed by step-by-step mastery of various skills.
OUR STAFF
Steven R. Harris, Ph.D.: Steven is an associate dean of academics/professor of pharmacology at the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine (PCSOM). This position gives him the opportunity to teach and interact with students who are training to be osteopathic physicians. As a father Steve's interest in working with kids has long been a passion. He is co-founder and the director of the East Kentucky Learning Center. As a graduate student at the University of Georgia he worked for the Sylvan Learning Center. He's been involved in teaching and tutoring kids and adults for over 20 years.
David Bumgardner: David is co-founder and manager of day-to-day operations of the East Kentucky Learning Center. He has tutored math and basic computing skills to kids and adults for the past few years. His education and training are in the fields of computer science, special education, and open source software. As an undergraduate he co-found the Pikeville Kentucky Professional Linux Users' Group; a conduit for professional and managerial people to share ideas on technology issues affecting the business and education communities of Eastern Kentucky.
